A tribute to the American spirit, The Mark
Bingham Story explores the life of a man who, already an inspiration
to friends and family, became a hero to the world on 9/11. Along
with other passengers, Mark led a brave group of men and women
who fought back against the terrorists on United Flight 93 and
kept the plane from reaching its target, thought to be the U.S.
Capitol. On a tragic day filled with confusion, anger and helplessness,
this story of defiance inspired a nation. Mark Bingham was a loving
and protective son, a fiercely loyal friend, a successful businessman,
a championship athlete, a wild partier, an outspoken conservative
and a gay man who defied stereotypes throughout his life. Told
through the voices of those who knew him best — including
Mark’s mother, Alice Hoagland — this documentary features
an extensive collection of Mark’s never-before-seen home
movies that show how, in an extraordinary way, he was preparing
for the events of 9/11 his whole life. The Mark Bingham Story is
a 90-minute documentary film directed by Scott Gracheff for national
theatrical distribution and television broadcast. Chris Million
is the director of photography and Holly Million is the producer.
